Mon 1 Apr - Chester, MD

This morning, the rain had stopped and been replaced with fog. So before breakfast at 9am, we take a wander around the George Brooks House B&B in St Michaels.

Great light and smell and cool air in the early morning. A few pics...

This was our B&B from behind and towards the main road.
Hans (not lost) in the woods.
The smell of the woods, after last night's rain, with the sun streaming through and the birds twittering - we could have been from a Disney movie. On the other side of the main road (St Michaels Road which turns into Talbot St in St Michaels and then reverts back to St Michaels Road) is the Yacht Club Road, which ends up at... You get the picture.
Well, at 9am we have our breakfast at the B&B for the last time, pack up the car, check out and drive out of St Michaels back towards Chester. We stop at Chester's local Safeway store and stock up groceries and other stuff - for around $200 once we finished - Di intends to cook up a storm.
Di was very happy when she saw how many types of soups they had at Safeway...
We drive back to Mary's place, spend a bit of time getting all our bags in and then have soup and sandwiches for lunch on Mary's balcony. Very nice and sunny and overlooking water.
A quiet couple of hours, with Di starting some of the planned cooking. The weather turns overcast and colder before we go for a wander around the neighbourhood. We follow the perimeters of the development clockwise along water and the marinas before we see a familiar building. This is Shells Yes, the restaurant where we had dinner with Mary and Burrdge last Wednesday night after we arrived.

We saw these interesting poles with birds dwellings certainly on top of the first two, but what about the third pole? We have seen these before, but we are not sure what they are used for. More diverse bird accommodation?
Back to Mary's. Her place is in the third building from the left, top floor condo on the far left of the building.
Windswept and interesting...
Di was absolutely delighted that she now has access to a kitchen for a few days and she cooked a couple of personal favorites for us, Linguine al Salmone for Hans and Linguine Bolognese for Di, all washed down with a good Australian red (that would be good old Wyndham Estate Shiraz 555).
Lazy night, first flicking through "50 channels of shit on the TV to choose from", then going back to reading. Good night.
